DESCRIPTION
Under general direction, performs advanced journey level and leadwork duties in the technical operation, maintenance and repair of steam generating boilers, electrical generating equipment and auxiliary systems, and centralized air-conditioning systems of a widely dispersed building complex with numerous individual physical plants; performs related work as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in routine preventative maintenance on equipment; oils and lubricates fans, motors, pumps and generators, cleans screens, strainers, burners and automatic controls as directed
- Effective and timely communication with management and team members including arrival, location, departure; communicating work issues and building needs; escalating issues to management as required
- Responsible to track daily performance and completed tasks through MicroMain web-based system
- Repairs and replaces defective parts & equipment as directed in accordance with provisions of prescribed preventative maintenance

Part-Time Guest Services Event Staff

DESCRIPTION
A Guest Service Attendant is an on-call, per event employee who will act as primary provider of direct service to guests as they are entertained at the Iowa Events Center. They are responsible for providing a safe environment for our guests and ensuring all service needs are met. Guest Service Attendants will work in positions as needed including; usher, ticket taker, suite staff and door guards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and scan tickets as guests enter the building amd usher guests to their seats
- Provide directional assistance to guests throughout facility
- Report actual/suspected violations of IEC policies, procedures, rules or regulations to your supervisor
- Complete an incident report on a timely basis, as required

Part-Time Operations Event Setup

DESCRIPTION
This position is based at the Iowa Events Center. The Iowa Events Center features a variety of flexible spaces to host events of all types and sizes. The Iowa Events Center is a unique combination of three venues under one roof: Wells Fargo Arena, Hy-Vee Hall, and Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center. The complex is flexible to meet the needs of events of all types and sizes. It is well-suited for conventions, meetings, tradeshows, sporting, social and entertainment events from 10,000–17,100 people.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set-up and tear down including: risers, chairs, tables, pipe and drape and other items as needed for events at facility
- Handle folding chairs, stacking chairs, tables of various shapes and sizes, drapery and skirting
- Operate an assortment of equipment including: forklifts, pallet jackets and more
- Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients

Part-Time Parking Lot Attendant

Parking Attendant is an on-call, per event employee who assists in direction of customers in and around the Iowa Events Center parking lots during events. This position is responsible for handling a high volume of cash and credit transactions in a responsible manner. This employee must have excellent attendance to ensure the success of the Parking Department during events held at the Iowa Events Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and direct customers entering parking lots, communicate parking information to the public
- Accept cash or credit payment. Count back correct change as needed
- Monitor lot during events, immediately contacting supervisor as issues arise
- Provide positive and friendly experience to all customers

Ticket Office Representative is a part time, on call per event employee who is responsible for the processing and distribution of ticket sales in an accurate and timely manner at all Iowa Events Center facilities. Responsible for providing accurate information to the general public, addressing any concerns and is committed to superior customer service.

Part-Time Zamboni Operator/Ice Technician

DESCRIPTION
The Zamboni Operator will perform general labor duties as assigned. Duties included but not limited to building conversions for various events, familiarity with all aspects of facility operations and maintenance in addition to ice making, ice maintenance and repair.

Description
The Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. They must be personable, professional and able to work in an ever changing fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

- Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol
- Must check guest’s ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages

The Concessions Culinary Supervisor is responsible for serving guests quality food and beverage following the company’s standard recipes. Prepare and cook meats, sandwiches, salads, sauces, marinades, spices and flour mixtures and supervise all other aspects of the food and beverage operation. Description
The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of the concession stands and warehouse areas including the cashiers, cooking, warehouse, and prep areas. The Concessions Supervisor will oversee stands cleanliness/neatness, product quality, customer service, stand safety, food safety, and alcohol service. Employee is also responsible for receipt and storage of all food, beverage, and related products. Employees must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work an event-based schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assist Concession Managers in preparation for event needs
- Performs opening and closing procedures for event and non-event days
- Ensure concession team members follow proper policy and procedure in accordance with OVG Hospitality standards
- Receives product deliveries and maintains accurate inventory records.
Assists in the warehouse, including transportation of products. Neatly maintains storage areas ensuring all items are placed in their proper storage areas at the proper location

Dishwasher & Catering Steward

Description
The Dishwasher & Catering Steward is responsible for the sanitation of all kitchen equipment, cooking utensils, dishware, glassware and silverware, as well as the kitchen. They are also responsible for all back of house areas being set and ready prior to events. The Dishwasher & Catering Steward will assist in pulling and staging all equipment prior to set-up, during the event and during clean-up. As a perk of the job, we offer free meals for most event days when available.
Responsibilities
- Operates dish machine equipment & washes any items not dishwasher safe by hand
- Places clean dishes, utensils or equipment in proper storage areas
- Sorts and removes trash or compost and clean after usage and sweeps and/or scrubs all floors in the kitchen and back of house areas

- Bartenders are expected to de-escalate intoxicated guest situations. If a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity, the bartender may contact management or security as required.

Description
The Suite Server is responsible for setting and maintaining advanced and event day suites food and beverage orders for Wells Fargo Arena events. Oversee their designated suites during events. Employees must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work an event-based schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Suites Supervisor & Manager in preparation for the event. Stocking of suite products, opening and closing procedures, and maintaining the productivity of the suite pantry and suite storage areas.
- Maintains current “tickets” for designated suites as orders are placed. Presents accurate final checks to the guest. Ability to accurately report client order and appropriately add tax / service charge.
- Ability to read and comprehend Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for the purpose of setting up guest events with proper linen, dishware, glassware, flatware; executing service on the contracted event menu & event timeline.
- Serve beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages. Must check guest’s ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages. Communicates last call in designated suites.

Warehouse Associate

DESCRIPTION
The warehouse associate is responsible for the receipt and storage of all food, beverage and related product and equipment received at Iowa Events Center in Wells Fargo Arena. The inventory and security of all items is under the control of these employees. Employees must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work an event based schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Checks all incoming items against purchase order sheets checking details such as weight count, quality, and specification
- Ensures that all items are received and placed in their storage location at the proper temperature
- Requires keeping all storage areas and inventory in neat, organized and sanitary condition as directed
- Deliver items according to requisitions and place inventory in a proper fashion using the FIFO method of rotation (First-In-First-Out)
