Wells Fargo and the Harlem Globetrotters to help "Teach Children to Save" and present the "ABCs of Bullying Prevention" to local youth

WHAT: 

April is National Financial Literacy Month. Friday, April 1, students in Des Moines will learn about saving money, budgeting and distinguishing wants versus needs when Wells Fargo volunteers visit Findley Elementary and Cattell Elementary, along with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa and Youth Emergency Services and Shelter. The national financial education volunteering effort is sponsored by the American Bankers Association.

Students will use Wells Fargo’s Hands on Banking® free online program, which teaches individuals of all ages and families in all stages of life about the basics of responsible money management, including how to create a budget, save money, spend wisely and more.

April 10 is also when the Harlem Globetrotters will be visiting Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. In partnership with Wells Fargo, El Gato Melendez of the Harlem Globetrotters will present the ABCs of Bullying Prevention to the children alongside Wells Fargo this Friday.

The Harlem Globetrotters established their program with the National Campaign to Stop Violence. The program focuses on Action, Bravery, and Compassion, comprising the ABCs.

WHO: 
Youth from Findley Elementary, Cattell Elementary, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa and Youth Emergency Services and Shelter will participate in the Teach Children to Save and ABCs of Bullying Prevention sessions conducted by Wells Fargo and the Harlem Globetrotters. Media is encouraged to attend as representatives of both organizations will be available for interviews.
